Guidance Counsellors

We have a dedicated team of four guidance counsellors, each assigned to a specific House group to ensure personalised support.

The College Guidance Counsellors are available to assist students in both their personal and academic journeys. They are committed to enhancing students' mental health and resilience. Additionally, they offer valuable career advice to help navigate future pathways. Whether students need help with personal challenges, academic guidance, or career planning, the counsellors are there to support them every step of the way.

Campus Minister

The Campus Minister is a facilitator for the spiritual life of the staff and students and assists the Assistant Principal Faith and Mission with social justice and immersion programs. They also support the faith, spiritual and pastoral development of students and, through the many different service opportunities they lead, empower them to use their gifts and talents in their service to others.
In 2025 we have two staff in the role as Campus Minister.

First Nations Mentor

The First Nations Mentor supports the cultural, educational, pastoral, and personal development of First Nations students. They provide guidance and foster a sense of belonging by assisting with both academic and personal growth. Working closely with families, they ensure a supportive and inclusive educational environment. Additionally, the First Nations Mentor promotes and shares Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and spiritualities with the whole school community.

Defence School Mentor

Mt Maria College is aware of the unique educational needs of students whose parents are members of the Australian Defence Force. The government sponsored role of the Defence School Mentor at the College is to provide support and assistance to students of ADF families and to hopefully alleviate some of the concerns that families may have when transferring to a new school.
