The Royals Win Battle of The Rock Bands

After winning the 2024 Bluesfest Byron Bay Busking Competition in March, and striking a chord at the Queensland Catholic Schools & Colleges Music Festival in August, rock band The Royals from Mt Maria College Mitchelton have capped off a stellar 2024, taking home several awards at the recent Battle of the ROCK Bands. 🏆⭐
The band, made up of Rhys (guitars and vocals), Nik (guitars and vocals), Zilcomo (bass) and Xavier (drums), will now have the opportunity to perform at one of Brisbane's most iconic music venues, The Triffid, on 18 December. 🎸
Mt Maria College music program leader Belinda Tucker said, “their commitment to honing their craft and their passion for creating unique music with a hard rock and blues edge really sets them apart”. 🥁
Mt Maria College acting principal Karen Mulcahy said, “as they continue to write, record and tour, they’re proving they are not just a band to watch – they’re a band to watch out for”. 👀
